Orfeo Lunar – Jesús Cisneros

Avec cet ouvrage, l’artiste espagnol Jesús Cisneros conçoit une fiction dessinée à la forme inédite, et revisite l’imaginaire allemand de l’entre-deux guerre, associé à George Grosz, Otto Dix, Kurt Weill ou Hanns Eisler. Construit en plusieurs chapitres, le livre relate, à travers des séries d’images et des textes écrits par l’auteur, la création d’un spectacle d’avant-garde qui ne verra le jour que le temps d’être censuré par les nazis. Et nous parle d’une époque, peut-être trop semblable à la nôtre, où le monstre cher à Bertolt Brecht émergeait du ventre de la bête.  Ce livre est aussi l’occasion de découvrir le travail incroyable de Jesús Cisneros, illustrateur nourri d’art populaire et d’art brut, au travers d’une galerie de personnages fantasmagoriques.

With this book, the Spanish artist Jesús Cisneros conceives a drawn fiction in an unusual form, and revisits the German imaginary of the interwar period, associated with the art of George Grosz, Otto Dix, Kurt Weill or Hanns Eisler. Constructed in several chapters, the book recounts, through a series of images and texts written by the author, the creation of an avant-garde show that would only be seen the time to  be censored by the Nazis. It tells us about a time, perhaps too similar to ours, when the monster dear to Bertolt Brecht emerged from the belly of the beast.  This book is also an opportunity to discover the incredible work of Jesús Cisneros, an illustrator nurtured by popular art and art brut, through a gallery of phantasmagorical characters.
